Team Philosophy


We make one promise to each and every member of the MC Track team.  Our program will get you in the best shape of your entire life. Everybody competes with the knowledge that it is with smart, consistent and dedicated focus in the pursuit of excellence, we can reach the peak of our individual ability.  We combine all of our individual excellence into a powerful team.


Recent Highlights


The 2019 Girls Outdoor Track and Field  team just completed a Three-Peat. Winning our third Non Public B State Championship in three years (2017-2019). We scored 149 points at Sectionals winning 11 Gold medals. We scored 122 points at Groups winning 7 Golds medals.  We had the largest number of girls advance to the Meet of Champions in the history of Morris Catholic Track and Field. Kate McAndrew broke a 37 year old record in the 800m at Groups. She followed up with a 3rd place finish at The Meet of Champions. A sensational performance from Danielle Mills, who finished 3rd  in the Javelin, rounded out an amazing run in the state tournament. 


We had 5 girls advance to the New Balance High School National Championships!!  Danielle Mills competed in the Javelin. Our 1600m Sprint Medley Relay team of Prithika Satish, Destiny DeBlock, Mia Berthiaume and Kate McAndrew broke the school record and won All American Honors with a 6th place finish and running the 10th fastest time in the entire nation. 


The 2019 Girls Indoor team experienced unprecedented success winning both Statewide championships. We won the Non Public B Relay Championship and followed up that win with the overall Non Public B Indoor Team Championship. 



The 2019 Boys Outdoor Track and Field team fielded a group of mostly freshmen and sophomores.  Senior Sean Feeney and Junior Kevin Mulligan led our rebuilding effort. We had several near misses to advance to Groups.  Ryan Ciolek advanced in the 800m and he led our 4x800 team as well. Thomas Kelson, sophomore, advanced to Groups in the 3200m. Sophomores Josh Reinhart and Michael Richards advanced in the Shot Put and Discus. Our Upperclassmen showed their metal with a 3rd place finish in the 4x400 capping a solid season.

Coaching Staff 
 
Mr. Irving Fisher - Spring Track Head Coach

Irving Fisher is entering his 14th year as Head Coach of the Boys and Girls Track and Field teams. He began his coaching career as an assistant for the Hopatcong Warriors Junior Track Club.  He later moved on to assist with the Green Streakers of NJ AAU Track Club where he worked with multiple Regional and National Champions as well as many who placed highly. Coach Fisher ran in high school (Carson Long Military Institute) and college (Norwich University). He earned All New England honors in the 400m and 4x400m. Coach Fisher is USATF Level I certified. While at Morris Catholic our Boy’s team has won MC’s only Sectional Championship.  The Girls have won 5 State Championships (Indoor and Outdoor) with 21 individual or relay team State Champions. 4 girls earned All American honors in 2019. 

Coach Fisher has been married for 34 years to Tanya and both sons, George and Steven, graduated from Morris Catholic.
