Clubs and Activities

At Morris Catholic, all students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular clubs and special activities.

The Student Council Association (SCA) serves MCHS as its student government base and provides students with valuable leadership opportunities. SCA also sponsors school dances, service activities and special events. Special interests and talents create the enthusiasm for the Art Club, Computer Club, The Shield – MC’s yearbook, Mock Trial, world language clubs, Chess Club, math leagues and others. New in the 2007-08 school year are Habitat for Humanity, Venture Scouts and a fencing club. Some student organizations are both service and academic in nature. These include the Magna Corda Honors Program, the Beta Club and the National Honor Society.

The Performing Arts are alive and well at Morris Catholic and all students are invited to become a part of the arts at MC. The Drama Club meets weekly to plan events and to engage in acting games, improvisation and various stage and technical skills. Monthly coffee houses are held on specific Friday evenings and provide the opportunity for students to perform songs, scenes, instrumentals, and to socialize. The Drama Club sponsors field trips to see local and Broadway productions

Traditionally, the Fine and Performing Arts Department sponsors a fall drama and a spring musical.  The Music Department hosts a Christmas Concert and Spring Concert.  Art students display their favorite works at an Art Show held in conjunction with the Christmas Concert.

In early March the Performing Arts Department will participate in the New Jersey State Thespian Festival at Kean University.
