On Wednesday October 15, all sophomores and juniors will be taking the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). For the juniors, this test will be used to establish those academically talented students who may qualify to be a Commended National Merit Scholar. For the juniors, it will also serve as a precursor to the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) they will register for and take in the spring. The format for both tests is very similar. So having taken the PSAT will give them a good idea what to expect for the SAT.
In order to be at your best for testing day, here are some suggestions:
· Get a good nights sleep
· Be prepared with pencils and calculators
· Eat something for breakfast.
With the help of a newly structured PSAT prep class being offered to all the juniors this year, thehe students will be more relaxed, and be better prepared. There is nothing you can study for this test. Just do your best.
