Seniors
Ronak Mistry and Jen Smith know
first hand what Governor’s School is all about. According to both students, it
was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Last
December, both students submitted their applications in the hopes they would be
selected. Ronak became a finalist for the Governor's School of the Sciences to
be held at Drew University and Jennifer was accepted to the Governor's School
of the Arts which was held at The College of New Jersey.
Both
students spent the better part of three weeks in an intensive academic
experience honing their skills. The fact that these seniors were able to
compete and be selected for this prestigious program will bode well for them at
college application time.
If
you are a junior this year and might be interested in being a candidate for the
Governor’s School Program, stop by and see Mrs. Hatcher. More information will
follow when the new applications are distributed to the high schools at the end
of October. In the meantime, go up to Ronak and Jen and ask them about their
experience this summer. I know they would be very happy to take the time to
chat.
