Student Chaplain Program

Called by Baptism to Lead

Morris Catholic is one of the few high schools in the entire United States to have a Student Chaplain Program.  Student-athletes are trained by a ministry team (including our Priest Chaplain and President) in various skills that we have discerned to be essential for a student chaplain.  These include:

  • The importance of personal example (St. Francis of Assisi, "Preach the Gospel at all times.  If necessary, use words.")
  • Moral strength.
  • Appropriate speech.
  • The ability to lead the team in prayer.
  • The ability to assist the coaching staff in issues related to spirituality.
