 Winter Track - Results of State Non Public “B” Championship


The Track Team had an excellent performance at the State Non Public “B” State Championship on Saturday, February 18.   13 Athletes competed in the State Championship for  MC .  Of the 13, 11 won medals, and the other 2 just missed winning medals.


The Girls Team finished 5th out of 28 teams.   The Girls were led by  Molly Whalen who took 2nd in the 3200,  Sarah Zebick, who placed 3rd in the High Jump, and Rachel Petruska who finished 4th in the Shot Put.

The Girls 4 x 400 Relay placed 5th.  The Girls Relay Team had Prithika Satish, Lauren Hoving, Sarah Zebick, and Cammi Valori.


The Boys 4 x 400 team placed 3rd in a season best 3:49.  The Relay Team consisted of Justin Homer, Dylan Lattuga, Bryan Smilek, and P. J. Wilson.


The 2 athletes who did not medal just missed.  1st year Pole Vaulter Caitlin Yap cleared 7’6” and placed 7thBlaise Huresky improved by 2 feet in the Shot Put with a throw of 38’10”.  He made it to the finals and placed 8th

In addition, Prithika Satish missed making the finals of the 55 Dash by .01 second.


An excellent showing by the Track Team!  All Athletes who earned medals will be competing in the New Jersey Meet of Champions, this weekend,  at the Bennett Center in Toms River.



Alex Goebel qualified for the Junior (under 20) and Cadet (under 17) Fencing Junior Olympics this weekend. Alex will also fence for the NJ State team at the Junior Olympic competition. The National Junior Olympics will be held in Kansas City, MO, February 17 - 19, 2017.
