Catholic Identity
Morris Catholic is proud to be a school within the Diocese of Paterson. As a Catholic school, we welcome those students who may not have been raised in the Catholic faith and at the same time, we promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ as it has been passed on through the Tradition of the Roman Catholic Church. While some schools see their faith tradition as an “add on” to their academic program, we see it as practiced best when it is integrated into academic life, athletics and performing arts.
The Sisters of Christian Charity have taught at MCHS since its founding in 1957 and their convent is located on campus. The sisters teach and help to administer the school, ensuring its Catholic identity every day. We are also staffed with a full time chaplain and Diocesan priest. Our President, Mr. Michael St. Pierre and Principal, Dr. Steven Kramer, ensure that the school’s Catholic identity is strong and vibrant. Mr. St. Pierre's first Master's degree was in theology.
Faculty & Staff
A well-qualified team of nearly 50 teachers and administrators, 70% of whom possess advanced degrees, staffs Morris Catholic. Four of our staff members hold doctorate degrees. Each faculty member keeps abreast of current trends in his/her particular area of study through 100 hours of professional development every five years.
School Environment
The school’s environment is rich with tradition, spirituality, respect and warmth. Visitors often comment on their feeling welcomed and comfortable in our school. This sense of welcome and acceptance, coupled with a healthy awareness of order, make MCHS an ideal placement for the college-prep high school student.

Academic Excellence
Our graduates are accepted to and attend some of the finest colleges and universities in the United States. Of the class of 2012, 100% went on to study at the college or university level. Acceptances included Notre Dame, UPenn, Georgetown, Wake Forest, Boston College and many more. These statistics clearly reflect not just the fine academic program at MCHS, but the high caliber of the hard-working students that contribute to the community.
Beyond the Classroom
Morris Catholic has much available in terms of extra-curricular activities, which complement our well-defined, core academic program. Our Athletic Department offers seventeen varsity sports including the recent addition varsity hockey. We are proud of our newly renovated, state-of-the-art, synthetic grass athletic fields, which allow for safer, well-maintained playing conditions and may be shared with local community groups too.
Where Leadership Comes to Life
Morris Catholic is known not only for its faith tradition, excellent academics and co-curricular activities. It’s also a learning lab for emerging leaders. We like to say that at Morris Catholic “leadership comes to life”, meaning that every student has the opportunity to take responsibility for his/her future success. Each student then brings that success into the next chapters of their lives.
